Whoops
Hello, on a Monday! Apologies for not being in your inbox promptly at 10:15 AM Sunday morning, but in traveling for a friends’ wedding this past weekend, I completely forgot my laptop among 5 other necessary things when trying to leave for our trip at 5 AM. Today’s newsletter will be a little different format, since it’s a Monday and you probably aren’t leisurely sipping a coffee while taking in the news. I’m going more for a vibe of lunch break, need to read something other than my emails break, etc.
But we’ll be back next weekend per usual - I promise to pack my laptop! We appreciate your understanding, have a great start to your week BFFs!

The $900K AI Product Manager Job took the Internet by storm - a unique story as the writers’ strike continues month after month with media companies saying it is unrealistic for them to want a higher pay.

A woman in Texas was awarded $1.2B after an ex-boyfriend shared “visually intimate material” online. It is considered a huge win, not just monetarily for this woman, but as a deterrence case moving forward.
There has been some controversy in regards to the new Snow White remake, which actually doesn’t come out for another 7 months. Cosmo did a helpful overview of all of the drama (which everyone is exhausted by btw) but it does beg the question: when they have never been successful, why does Disney keep making these remakes?
Hurricane Hilary has been on watch as Southern California braces for landfall. Meteorologists are worried that because of the severe drought, SoCal will risk mudslides and flooding as the rain won’t have anywhere to go.
When it comes to President Trump and the news, we rely on Axios. They are somehow able to succinctly gather all of the information, pare it down, and give it to us in a timely manner. So - if you’re looking for some information on the indictments and why they are all happening at once, look no further.
For the first time ever, Broadcast and Cable viewing made up less than 50% of American’s TV usage…. more media news amongst the writers’ strike that really makes no sense as to why we aren’t paying these people more.

Watch: Allison Bornstein has been going viral for her “3 Word Method” which can help you not only while getting dressed, but also while shopping (which means less money wasted on clothes you won’t wear). She does a trial of how it works on her Youtube!
Listen: I am starting to listen to a podcast called Rehash that was recommended to me by my Spotify suggestions page (thanks AI!). It’s all about big moments in social media and pop culture that have since vanished, so I’ll let you know what I think (and you can let me know too, kind of like book club for podcasts)
Read: I just finished a book, Shark Heart, this weekend that had me in tears multiple times. If you can get past the plot line (a world where people sometimes have a gene that causes them to mutate into animals) it’s beautifully written and absolutely heart wrenching. A great read for the dwindling summer days of lying on the beach or under a tree and doing nothing but being outside.
Cook: I just started to like blue cheese, which I feel like has opened a new door for me. Bring in Alison Roman’s Cobb Salad, I trust this woman with all of my culinary endeavors, and my first Cobb Salad didn’t disappoint.

We received a request last week for some book suggestions beyond what is already listed on Viv’s website, and Financial Times just put out their top 15 business books of the year - great timing :)
